My story
My name is Reese Keeling, and I'm originally from Leander, Texas. Currently, I live in Stephenville, Texas, where I attend Tarleton State University, majoring in Communications. My studies have provided a strong foundation in media, public relations, and digital communication, fueling my passion for storytelling and effective communication.
As a freshman in high school, I took my first journalism class. The following year, I took photo journalism and started photographing multiple school events. My junior year I joined yearbook and together with the staff we created a yearbook virtually because of Covid. My senior year I was the editor of the yearbook and a staff member on the newspaper. I also began working with A2Z sports media doing sideline interviews, sports photography, and online graphics. I partnered with FLX ATX and interviewed for basketball and track season.
I am currently part of Tarleton's Intern2Learn program and have been working with the Texan News Service for the past three years. I began as a multimedia journalist, transitioned to art director, and now serve as the editor-in-chief. My role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including writing for both the newspaper and website, covering school events through reporting and photography, conducting interviews, writing and anchoring broadcasts, editing content, and designing the newspaper.
I currently serve as the Public Relations Chair for my sorority, Phi Mu, where I manage our social media accounts, create graphics, take photos, and coordinate communications with other organizations.
I also work with Mariah’s Moments Media, where I capture wedding content, edit footage, and create highlight reels.
